Customer\u00a0Base\u00a0 <\/strong><br \/>\na. Any\u00a0URI\u00a0organization,\u00a0department,\u00a0or\u00a0outside\u00a0group\u00a0holding\u00a0a\u00a0catered event\u00a0on\u00a0campus\u00a0in\u00a0which\u00a0students\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0in\u00a0attendance\u00a0may\u00a0request\u00a0 to\u00a0purchase\u00a0beer\u00a0and\u00a0wine\u00a0for\u00a0their\u00a0guests.\u00a0The\u00a0catered\u00a0event\u00a0must\u00a0 include\u00a0a\u00a0minimum\u00a0food\u00a0purchase\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0number\u00a0of\u00a0guests\u00a0and\u00a0 amount\u00a0of\u00a0alcohol\u00a0requested.<br \/>\nb. Any\u00a0URI\u00a0organization,\u00a0department,\u00a0or\u00a0outside\u00a0group\u00a0holding\u00a0a\u00a0catered\u00a0 event\u00a0on\u00a0campus\u00a0in\u00a0which\u00a0students\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0in\u00a0attendance\u00a0may\u00a0request\u00a0 a\u00a0cash\u00a0bar\u00a0service,\u00a0consisting\u00a0of\u00a0beer\u00a0and\u00a0wine,\u00a0in\u00a0which\u00a0payment\u00a0for\u00a0 alcohol\u00a0is\u00a0made\u00a0individually\u00a0by\u00a0each\u00a0guest.\u00a0The\u00a0catered\u00a0event\u00a0must\u00a0 include\u00a0a\u00a0minimum\u00a0food\u00a0purchase\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0number\u00a0of\u00a0guests\u00a0and\u00a0 amount\u00a0of\u00a0alcohol\u00a0requested.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>2. Customer\u00a0Ordering\u00a0Procedure\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1105\/URI-Alcohol-Approval-Request-20191115.pdf\">URI Alcohol Approval Request<\/a><br \/>\na. All\u00a0orders\u00a0for\u00a0alcohol\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0placed\u00a0through\u00a0our\u00a0Catering\u00a0Department.\u00a0 Orders\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0received\u00a0at\u00a0least\u00a072\u00a0hours\u00a0prior\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0event.<br \/>\nb. Approval\u00a0of\u00a0funding\u00a0source\u00a0for\u00a0an\u00a0alcohol\u00a0order\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0verified\u00a0forany\u00a0URI\u00a0organization\u00a0or\u00a0department.\u00a0Compliance\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0state\u00a0of\u00a0Rhode\u00a0 Island\u00a0Account\u00a0and\u00a0Control\u00a0Policy\u00a0A\u201036\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0enforced.<br \/>\nc. All\u00a0orders\u00a0for\u00a0alcohol\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0Ryan\u00a0Center\u00a0suite\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0stocked\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0 refrigerator\u00a0located\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0suite.\u00a0The\u00a0alcoholic\u00a0beverages\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0 served\u00a0by\u00a0an\u00a0attendant.\u00a0Client\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0billed\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0amount\u00a0of\u00a0 alcohol\u00a0ordered\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0event.\u00a0Any\u00a0product\u00a0not\u00a0consumed\u00a0would\u00a0 remain\u00a0the\u00a0property\u00a0of\u00a0Dining\u00a0Services.\u00a0In\u00a0suites\u00a0beer\u00a0is\u00a0charged\u00a0by\u00a0 packages\u00a0of\u00a0six\u00a0and\u00a0individual\u00a0wine\u00a0is\u00a0priced\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0four\u2010pack.\u00a0A\u00a0cash\u00a0 bar\u00a0is\u00a0not\u00a0available\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0suite.<br \/>\nd. All\u00a0orders\u00a0for\u00a0alcohol\u00a0at\u00a0events\u00a0in\u00a0which\u00a0the\u00a0client\u00a0is\u00a0paying\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0 alcohol\u00a0or\u00a0when\u00a0a\u00a0cash\u00a0bar\u00a0is\u00a0utilized,\u00a0beer\u00a0is\u00a0priced\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0bottle\u00a0or\u00a0 can\u00a0and\u00a0wine\u00a0is\u00a0priced\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0glass.\u00a0Clients\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0billed\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0 guaranteed\u00a0count.\u00a0Any\u00a0product\u00a0not\u00a0consumed\u00a0would\u00a0remain\u00a0the\u00a0 property\u00a0of\u00a0Dining\u00a0Services<br \/>\ne. No\u00a0cash\u00a0bar\u00a0service\u00a0order\u00a0can\u00a0be\u00a0taken\u00a0for\u00a0an\u00a0event\u00a0with\u00a0less\u00a0than\u00a025\u00a0 guests\u00a0in\u00a0attendance.<br \/>\nf. All orders for a cash bar service, consisting of beer and wine, will require a per person bar setup fee based on guaranteed head count and $50 per bartender at each event.<br \/>\ng. Pricing\u00a0for\u00a0beer\u00a0and\u00a0wine\u00a0at\u00a0a\u00a0cash\u00a0bar\u00a0service\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0modified\u00a0to\u00a0 include\u00a0taxes\u00a0and\u00a0administrative\u00a0fees.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>3. Procurement\u00a0and\u00a0Inventory\u00a0of\u00a0Alcohol\u00a0for\u00a0all\u00a0events\u00a0 <\/strong><br \/>\na. All\u00a0alcohol\u00a0for\u00a0events\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0purchased\u00a0by\u00a0URI\u00a0Dining\u00a0Services\u00a0at\u00a0a\u00a0 Class\u00a0A\u00a0retail\u00a0establishment\u00a0located\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0State\u00a0of\u00a0Rhode\u00a0Island\u00a0that\u00a0 has\u00a0been\u00a0authorized\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0URI\u00a0Purchasing\u00a0Department\u00a0as\u00a0an\u00a0 authorized\u00a0vendor.<br \/>\nb. Alcohol\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0purchased\u00a0on\u00a0a\u00a0weekly\u00a0basis\u00a0for\u00a0events\u00a0taking\u00a0place\u00a0 within\u00a010\u00a0days\u00a0to\u00a0minimize\u00a0alcohol\u00a0inventory\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0premises.\u00a0 Existing\u00a0inventory\u00a0of\u00a0alcohol\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0considered\u00a0before\u00a0additional\u00a0 product\u00a0is\u00a0procured.<br \/>\nc. All\u00a0alcohol\u00a0purchased\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0client\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0secured\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0locked\u00a0room\u00a0 designed\u00a0exclusively\u00a0to\u00a0warehouse\u00a0alcohol\u00a0until\u00a0day\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0event.\u00a0Only\u00a0 designated\u00a0catering\u00a0supervisors\u00a0will\u00a0have\u00a0access.\u00a0Inventory\u00a0records\u00a0of\u00a0 all\u00a0alcohol\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0maintained\u00a0daily\u00a0by\u00a0a\u00a0Dining\u00a0Services\u00a0supervisor\u00a0 who\u00a0is\u00a0not\u00a0associated\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0delivery,\u00a0disbursement,\u00a0or\u00a0receiving\u00a0of\u00a0 leftover\u00a0alcohol\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0secured\u00a0location.\u00a0Any\u00a0discrepancies\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0 reported\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0Catering\u00a0manager.<br \/>\nd. The\u00a0catering\u00a0supervisor\u00a0must\u00a0initiate\u00a0a\u00a0four\u2010part\u00a0issue\u00a0requisition\u00a0 when\u00a0alcohol\u00a0is\u00a0removed\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0secured\u00a0inventory\u00a0location\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0 event.\u00a0The\u00a0white\u00a0copy\u00a0remains\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0secured\u00a0location.\u00a0The\u00a0yellow\u00a0 copy\u00a0must\u00a0accompany\u00a0the\u00a0supervisor\u00a0during\u00a0the\u00a0delivery.\u00a0At\u00a0which\u00a0 point\u00a0the\u00a0alcohol\u00a0is\u00a0delivered\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0remote\u00a0site,\u00a0the\u00a0catering employee\u00a0responsible\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0service\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0alcohol\u00a0(certified\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0 ServeSafe\u00a0Alcohol\u00a0program)\u00a0must\u00a0receive\u00a0the\u00a0shipment\u00a0and\u00a0reconcile\u00a0 that\u00a0the\u00a0inventory\u00a0is\u00a0accurate.<br \/>\ne. At\u00a0the\u00a0end\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0event,\u00a0all\u00a0alcohol\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0removed\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0event\u00a0 premises.\u00a0The\u00a0ServeSafe\u00a0certified\u00a0employee\u00a0conducts\u00a0an\u00a0ending\u00a0 inventory\u00a0and\u00a0reports\u00a0results\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0issue\u00a0requisition\u00a0notating\u00a0the\u00a0 volume\u00a0of\u00a0alcohol\u00a0in\u00a0any\u00a0opened\u00a0containers,\u00a0if\u00a0applicable.\u00a0The\u00a0 requisition\u00a0must\u00a0accompany\u00a0alcohol\u00a0back\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0secured\u00a0location\u00a0by\u00a0 another\u00a0catering\u00a0employee\u00a0who\u00a0will\u00a0approve\u00a0inventory\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0product.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>4. Cash\u00a0Handling\u00a0Procedures\u00a0for\u00a0Cash\u00a0Bars\u00a0 <\/strong><br \/>\na. Catering\u00a0supervisor\u00a0will\u00a0sign\u00a0out\u00a0cash\u00a0bank\u00a0from\u00a0safe\u00a0and\u00a0setup register\u00a0at\u00a0cash\u00a0bar.\u00a0Cash\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0delivered\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0locked\u00a0deposit\u00a0bag.<br \/>\nb. Bartender\u00a0must\u00a0count\u00a0and\u00a0verify\u00a0cash\u00a0bank\u00a0prior\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0event.<br \/>\nc. At\u00a0the\u00a0end\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0event\u00a0the\u00a0register\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0Z\u2019d\u00a0out\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0catering\u00a0 supervisor.\u00a0All\u00a0funds\u00a0must\u00a0be\u00a0counted\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0bartender\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0 catering\u00a0supervisor\u00a0and\u00a0reported\u00a0properly\u00a0on\u00a0deposit\u00a0slip.\u00a0 d. Locked\u00a0deposit\u00a0bag\u00a0is\u00a0delivered\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0safe.<br \/>\ne. Dining\u00a0Services\u00a0fiscal\u00a0clerk\u00a0will\u00a0reconcile\u00a0cash\u00a0deposit\u00a0with\u00a0alcohol\u00a0 inventory.\u00a0Any\u00a0discrepancies\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0reported\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0Catering\u00a0 manager.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>5. Monitoring\u00a0Service\u00a0of\u00a0Alcohol\u00a0 <\/strong><br \/>\na. Catering\u00a0will\u00a0provide\u00a0an\u00a0appropriate\u00a0level\u00a0of\u00a0service\u00a0employees\u00a0and\u00a0 supervisors\u00a0who\u00a0are\u00a0certified\u00a0in\u00a0Alcohol\u00a0Server\u00a0Training\u00a0at\u00a0any\u00a0event\u00a0 where\u00a0sales\u00a0or\u00a0service\u00a0of\u00a0alcohol\u00a0takes\u00a0place.\u00a0The\u00a0event\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0 monitored\u00a0by\u00a0our\u00a0staff\u00a0for\u00a0compliance\u00a0to\u00a0all\u00a0safe\u00a0service\u00a0practices\u00a0and\u00a0 laws\u00a0specific\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0Rhode\u00a0Island\u00a0State\u00a0Liquor\u00a0Authority.\u00a0Alcohol\u00a0may\u00a0 only\u00a0be\u00a0served\u00a0for\u00a0no\u00a0more\u00a0than\u00a0a\u00a0five\u2010hour\u00a0period\u00a0per\u00a0event\u00a0and\u00a0no\u00a0 more\u00a0than\u00a0two\u00a0drinks\u00a0may\u00a0be\u00a0served\u00a0to\u00a0an\u00a0individual\u00a0at\u00a0one\u00a0time.<br \/>\nb. \u00a0All\u00a0alcohol\u00a0served\u00a0during\u00a0suite\u00a0service,\u00a0the\u00a0Alumni\u00a0Room,\u00a0or\u00a0other\u00a0 specified\u00a0area\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0Ryan\u00a0Center\u00a0during\u00a0a\u00a0football\u00a0or\u00a0basketball\u00a0game\u00a0 cannot\u00a0begin\u00a0earlier\u00a0than\u00a0one\u00a0hour\u00a0before\u00a0the\u00a0game\u00a0begins\u00a0and\u00a0service\u00a0 must\u00a0end\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0beginning\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0second\u00a0half\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0game.\u00a0Both\u00a0Dining\u00a0 Services\u00a0employees\u00a0and\u00a0Ryan\u00a0Center\u00a0Event\u00a0staff\u00a0will\u00a0monitor\u00a0all\u00a0areas\u00a0 for\u00a0compliance\u00a0to\u00a0all\u00a0safe\u00a0service\u00a0practices\u00a0and\u00a0laws\u00a0specific\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0 Rhode\u00a0Island\u00a0State\u00a0Liquor\u00a0Authority.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>URI Dining Services Alcohol Procedures for Catered Services\u00a0 URI\u00a0Dining\u00a0Services\u00a0will\u00a0offer\u00a0alcohol\u00a0service\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0campus\u00a0community\u00a0through\u00a0our Catering\u00a0Department\u00a0within\u00a0the\u00a0terms\u00a0and\u00a0conditions\u00a0outlined\u00a0below.\u00a0 1.
