anchor inclusion in every aspect of the University of Rhode Island\u2019s community and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vision<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Advancing inclusion by cultivating community, enhancing&nbsp;equity, and demonstrating diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Core Values<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Impact culture and climate by creating a welcoming community where each member can learn, work, and thrive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase institutional capacity by hosting communities of practice that foster cultural competence and model constructive dialogue across difference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Influence the orientation of the academic and administrative enterprise by advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our scholarship and research, pedagogy and practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorporate inclusion in university policies and procedures by identifying and removing artificial barriers that impede the land grant mission and mandate to support all learners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Iterate through coordinated and ongoing institution-wide assessment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">University Diversity Council<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The University Diversity Council, comprised of undergraduate, graduate students, staff, faculty, and alumni representatives, advises the chief diversity officer on university-wide policies, procedures, and initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" more<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Accessibility Task Force<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In alignment with our Focus URI 2023-2033 Strategic Plan to foster an inclusive, people-centered culture, URI created the Accessibility Task Force in Fall 2024.
