An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)<\/strong> is a device that provides battery backup to protect IT systems from power failures or voltage drops. UPS systems are deployed in network closets and key locations<\/strong> across URI campuses to ensure continuous operation of mission-critical networking and computing components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In data centers<\/strong>, UPS systems act as a temporary power source until electrical generators take over, preventing unexpected system shutdowns and minimizing disruptions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
