Information on upcoming career fairs can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/career\/career-fairs\/\">CCEE page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Government Internship Opportunities<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>State of Rhode Island Government Internships <\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students at the University of Rhode Island can apply for internships with the legislature and agencies of the State of Rhode Island. These internships are unpaid, however academic credit can be earned.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply online through the the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rilegislature.gov\/internship\/pages\/intern-page.aspx\">State of RI&#8217;s Government Internships page<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level  prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rilegislature.gov\/internship\/pages\/intern-page.aspx\" title=\"\">state of ri government internships<\/a>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Note: Resume and cover letter are required on the application, but the letter of recommendation is not required on the application. You may provide references later.<\/em><\/span> <em>Students are encouraged to apply early because interviews and placements are done on a rolling basis, so an earlier application will give you a better set of options! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research state agencies at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ri.gov\">www.ri.gov<\/a> before you apply so that you can express your preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Secretary of State for Rhode Island Summer Fellowship Program <\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Secretary of State offers a paid fellowship during the summer. The application deadline was April 25 in 2021. In the Spring you will find a description and and link to the application here:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sos.ri.gov\/divisions\/civics-and-education\/fellowship\/\">https:\/\/www.sos.ri.gov\/divisions\/civics-and-education\/fellowship\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>City of Providence Mayoral Internships and Fellowships <\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unpaid internships have been available with the City of Providence in the past.<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.providenceri.gov\/mayor\/fellowships-internships\/\">web-page<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mayor&#8217;s office normally offers a paid summer fellow program. If the programs resume, information about the programs and application processes should be available through the link above. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Internships with the Rhode Island Congressional Delegation <\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students at the University of Rhode Island can apply for internships at the Rhode Island and Washington, DC offices of our members in the United States Senate and House of Representatives. Descriptions of the available opportunities and online application links are available at the following websites: <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reed.senate.gov\/services\/internships\">Senator Jack Reed<\/a><\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There is a Summer 2025 program! Deadline to apply: June 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.senate.gov\/services\/students\/internships\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Senator Sheldon Whitehouse<\/span><\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There is a Fall 2025 program! Deadline to apply: July 11<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/magaziner.house.gov\/services\/internships\">Congressman Seth Magaziner<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amo.house.gov\/services\/internships\">Congressman Gabe Amo<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Government Internships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Internships with the State of Massachusetts Government<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The state of Massachusetts offers many internship opportunities. Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/topics\/state-government-internships\">State of Massachusetts<\/a> website for more information.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Americorps<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Americorp is a federal government program that was created as a means for Americans to serve local communities. You have probably heard of Teach for America, but there are many other programs, including summer opportunities. To learn more and start the application process, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/americorps.gov\">americorps.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout  \">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Arranging Credit for Internships and Other Career Planning Assistance at CCEE<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most government internships are unpaid, but you can earn credit \u2013 even for an out-of-state summer internship (for in-state tuition). The Center for Career and Experiential Education (CCEE) can help you with this!
