You are also a representative of the University of Rhode Island and the College of Education. Present yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times. When in doubt, follow the lead of your classroom teacher and all school policies. You are considered a guest in the school and must abide by teacher, school, and district policies at all times.<\/p>\n<p>For a detailed explanation of teacher candidate expectations, please refer to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1j2bSOO65Meal0aFZBRoABGD_ISPAji4bY-qYrisUPTY\/edit?usp=drive_link__;!!Jh1S!gEyl8qaFQ2FBQ8ErtrFk69RwMr1mM-r-K1ldrFtOrIf342HlqP0iPrR-E877NneSNGeLFTtW3eKNncNFexr6Ug$\">ProCADs Framework<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1EZjIUh7Q5GKzGpdIDboABG2i-NtMxNz6\/view?usp=drive_link__;!!Jh1S!gEyl8qaFQ2FBQ8ErtrFk69RwMr1mM-r-K1ldrFtOrIf342HlqP0iPrR-E877NneSNGeLFTtW3eKNncN8KYibvw$\">Educator Preparation Programs Handbook<\/a><\/li>\n<li>and the Ethics for Educators module, as assigned by program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Dress Professionally<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Note the dress code of the teachers in your building and dress accordingly<\/li>\n<li>YES: <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">slacks, saris, longer skirts, sweaters, blouse, collared button-down shirt, dashikis, longer shorts, kippahs, hijabs, closed toed shoes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>NO: anything with holes in it, flip flops, hats, tank tops, anything with negative messages\/images or that could be distracting to students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Keep Relationships Professional and School Based<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do not initiate or have contact with <\/span>your students or their families outside of the school environment.<\/li>\n<li>Do not share social media contact information,&nbsp; <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">personal email <\/span> or phone numbers.<\/li>\n<li>Do not give your students anything that is not provided by the school or approved by your classroom teacher such as snacks, money, books, school supplies, stickers, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Honor Privacy<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Always honor student privacy unless the student has told you that he\/she may be in harm or harming others.<\/li>\n<li>Never share your personal business with the students.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use your cell phone or iPad during class<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, unless it is part of a lesson.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Communicate Often and Early<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you will not attend your school on an expected day, contact your university supervisor, university instructor, and clinical educator before the start of the school day.<\/li>\n<li>Identify your clinical educator&#8217;s preferred mode of communication i.e. text, phone call, email.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize yourself with your district&#8217;s policies related to teacher absences and communication.
