Transfer credits in music theory, music history, and performance must be validated by placement examination.<\/p>\n<p>All Bachelor of Music students must successfully demonstrate piano proficiency through examinations or coursework. See the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/music\/academics\/bm\/music-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Music<\/a> website for specific requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate students apply for admission to the Music Education teacher certification program in January of their sophomore year.
