Applicants demonstrate dispositions through their personal statement and letters of recommendation.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p>Complete an online application through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/graduate-school\/apply\/\">URI Graduate School website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The following are required as part of the application:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a copy of your RI teaching certificate (or certification from another state).<\/li>\n<li>a resume indicating your teaching experience<\/li>\n<li>a minimum of two letters of recommendation from personnel in a supervisory capacity qualified to comment specifically on your professional abilities and strengths (for example, principals, department chairs)<\/li>\n<li>a personal statement revealing your rationale for applying to the reading program and a focused goal for obtaining an advanced degree<\/li>\n<li>a formal interview with program faculty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants should read and be aware of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/education\/core-beliefs-statement\/\">Core Beliefs Statement<\/a><\/strong> of the School of Education<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>M.A. in Education Reading Specialization Admission Requirements Candidates will be selected on the basis of three key areas: Knowledge: All M.A. applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply to the URI Graduate School.
