Through immersive and hands-on learning experiences, you will gain knowledge and skills to lead new generations toward a more environmentally just and sustainable future.<\/p>\n<p>The EE program prepares students for professional careers in non-formal education settings such as nature centers, zoos, aquariums, parks, higher education, and governmental policy entities and lobbyists. You will gain knowledge across scientific content domains, develop strategies for teaching and learning in non-formal environments, and become empowered to lead actions that increase access to healthy environments for all people.<\/p>\n<p>The program also partners with local environmental education agencies including the RI Environmental Education Association, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Mystic Aquarium, Audubon of RI, Providence Parks, and Save the Bay, so you&#8217;ll have experiences learning from and working with the extraordinary environmental educators across the state.<\/p>\n<h2>What You&#8217;ll Learn<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a <strong>depth of interdisciplinary knowledge<\/strong> to effectively participate in solving local and global challenges associated with climate change and other environmental impacts through educational efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Apply <strong>teaching and learning strategies<\/strong> to engage diverse learners in stewardship, research, and advocacy for a sustainable future.<\/li>\n<li>Create and implement relevant and <strong>meaningful learning experiences and programs<\/strong> that encourage citizens to explore, investigate, and understand the interconnectivity of the world around them.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the skills of flexibility and responsiveness and the ability to foster a <strong>positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment<\/strong> when implementing environmental education.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Synthesize data and effectively communicate<\/strong> the interconnected relationships between the natural and engineered worlds to promote environmental justice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview The B.S. in Environmental Education (EE) at URI is designed for active learners who are passionate about the environment and enjoy engaging with people of all ages.
