He recently concluded his formal administrative leadership career after spending nearly a decade as superintendent of the Dedham Public Schools. His administrative experiences also include extended roles as high school principal at Framingham High School and Newton South High School. Welch also has many years of experience as a high school physics teacher and middle school science teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welch currently serves as the director of the ACCEPT Educator Leadership Institute (ELI). ELI is a Massachusetts Department of Education program that trains and endorses K-12 educators for administrative licensure in Massachusetts. The ELI Program has endorsed over 550 candidates in the past 23 years with many currently serving as principals and administrators across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welch is also a senior advisor at Litix K-12, an educational analytics and compliance training company. In addition, he currently serves as a faculty member at MasterClass for Superintendents, providing training and support for school administrators aspiring toward executive leadership roles in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welch completed his B.S. in secondary education at URI in 1989 after being a prominent member of the crew team as an undergraduate and becoming head coach of the team in 1986\u20131988. He holds a master\u2019s degree in administration from Harvard University, and an advanced certificate from the National Institute for School Leadership.
