{"id":15536,"date":"2024-06-17T11:30:20","date_gmt":"2024-06-17T15:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/education\/?p=15536"},"modified":"2024-06-18T09:39:55","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T13:39:55","slug":"10-under-10-award-recipient-kelsea-adams-16-m-a-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/education\/2024\/06\/17\/10-under-10-award-recipient-kelsea-adams-16-m-a-17\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Under 10 Award Recipient Kelsea Adams \u201916, M.A. \u201917"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kelsea Adams, elementary education and special education teacher for the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District in California, was named the \u201c10 Under 10\u201d award recipient from the College of Education for 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adams was named best teacher of the year award in 2022 by her school district.<\/p>\n<p>She earned a bachelor\u2019s in elementary education and biology from URI in 2016, and a master\u2019s in special education 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Her commitment as an educator is displayed inside of her classroom and in the community where she ensures that all of her students are exposed to equitable opportunities and new experiences. In her classroom, she aims to instill a love and passion for community service and exposes her students to a version of her own marine science education, hoping they will develop their own appreciation for the environment.<\/p>\n<p>The 10 Under 10 Awards highlight young leaders who embody the true spirit and values of the University.
