All engineering students (including UC-Engineering and Wanting Engineering) may elect to pursue the academic program Concentration in Naval Science and Technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students enrolled in the concentration will join the Navy STEM Crew and will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Southeast New England STEM Coalition activities, including seminars, internship and career recruiting events, and field trips. Successful completion of the Concentration in Naval Science and Technology requires 9 academic credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concentration in naval science and technology form must be filed in the Engineering Dean\u2019s Office at least one semester prior to expected graduation. Forms must be signed by one of the coordinators and the chair of the student’s department, then sent to the College of Engineering Student Success Office<\/a> for formal declaration and inclusion in the student\u2019s file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Required Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Successful completion of the Concentration in Naval Science & Technology requires 9 academic credits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • EGR 201 \u2013 Seminar in Naval Science & Technology<\/strong> (1 credit) taken up to 3 times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Remaining credits:
     \u2013 Navy-related research<\/strong> (BME, CHE, CVE, ELE, ISE, MCE or OCE 491\/492)
    and\/or
      \u2013 Navy-related capstone design<\/strong> (BME 484\/485, CHE 451\/452, CVE 497\/498, ELE 480\/481, ISE 401\/402, MCE 401\/402 or OCE 495\/496)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
