The demand for culturally sophisticated bilingual professionals capable of functioning in our diverse global marketplace is expected to increase in the coming years, especially as the economies of Europe and Latin America expand. Even here in the United States, Spanish is spoken widely at engineering firms.<\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout  right\">\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/engineering\/academics\/iep\/enroll\/\" title=\"\">join the iep<\/a>\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/languages\/academics\/spanish\/\" title=\"\">languages department: Spanish<\/a>\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/engineering\/student-support\/program-curriculum-check-sheets\/iep-curriculum-guides\/\" title=\"\">curriculum guide<\/a>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spanish IEP students study abroad in Spain at one of our Spanish partner universities: the University of Navarra, University of Cantabria, or University of Zaragoza. After their semester at a partner university, students complete six-month internships \u2013 some of them paid either by the company or a scholarship \u2013 typically also in Spain.
