The URI chapter hosts the \u201cPhysics is Phun!\u201d workshop in the fall, mentors middle schoolers and ninth graders through the Little SWEsters club and\u00a0on Women In Engineering Day, high school juniors, and seniors accepted to URI spend a day with engineering faculty and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth\"><strong>Professional Events<br><\/strong>SWE members organize and attend campus workshops on networking, resume building, salary negotiation, interview skills and much more. The chapter also visits engineering firms to learn about different career paths from&nbsp;industry professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth\"><strong>Conferences<br><\/strong>The URI SWE chapter attends a regional conference and national conference. Each conference features workshops, career fairs and plenty of networking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth\"><strong>Social Events<br><\/strong>Events such as a rope challenge course, apple picking, ice skating, group trips, and potluck dinners enable the members to have fun and get to know each other better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth\"><strong>Umbrella Organization<br><\/strong>The Society of Women Engineers is a powerful, global force uniting 50,000 members of all genders spanning 85 countries. We are the world\u2019s largest advocate and catalyst for change in engineering and technology.
