Following completion of his bachelor\u2019s in <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/ecbe\/academics\/computer-engineering-b-s\/\">computer engineering<\/a> at the University of Rhode Island, he was awarded a <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/engineering\/academics\/abm-programs\/raymond-m-wright-fasttrack-scholarship\/\">Raymond. M. Wright Accelerated B.S.\/M.S. Scholarship <\/a>in recognition of his hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notarianni chose to obtain a master\u2019s degree in <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/ecbe\/academics\/electrical-engineering-m-s\/\">electrical engineering<\/a>. \u201cURI Engineering played a significant role in helping me discover what I wanted to pursue after graduation. Through my coursework, projects and interactions with faculty, I was able to explore different areas within engineering and ultimately find the path that best aligned with my interests,\u201d said Notarianni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By stating curious and trying out different opportunities, he states that one of the most valuable aspects of his undergraduate experience was the opportunity to engage in research, which allowed him to apply what he learned in the classroom to real-world problems. \u201cBecause of this experience, I was able to apply and gain acceptance into the ABM program, giving me the opportunity to earn a master\u2019s degree in a shorter amount of time while continuing the research.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-quote-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-quote  \"><blockquote>&#8220;URI Engineering played a significant role in helping me discover what I wanted to pursue after graduation. Through my coursework, projects and interactions with faculty, I was able to explore different areas within engineering and ultimately find the path that best aligned with my interests.\u201d <\/blockquote><cite>Zachary Notarianni, M.S. &#8217;26<\/cite><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<p>He is especially proud of being part of <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cypher\/\">URI\u2019s CYPHER Lab<\/a>, where he had the opportunity to get involved in research and work on meaningful, real-world projects under the guidance of Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/ecbe\/meet\/yan-lindsay-sun\/\">Yan Sun<\/a> and Assistant Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/ecbe\/meet\/hui-lin\/\">Hui Lin<\/a>. \u201cThat experience helped me grow both technically and professionally, and it played a big role in shaping my interests moving forward,\u201d said Notarianni.
