The University of Rhode Island participates in the WDF Direct Student loan program. This program includes both student Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans. The fixed interest rate for these loans in 2017-18 will be 4.45% with an origination fee of 1.069%. The University receives funds directly from the U.S. Department of Education and disburses them to eligible students.
