An affirmative action program institutionalizes the [University of Rhode Island\u2019s] commitment to equality in every aspect of employment and is more than a paperwork exercise. An affirmative action program is dynamic in nature and includes measurable&nbsp;objectives, quantitative analyses, and internal auditing and reporting systems that measure the [University\u2019s] progress toward achieving equal employment opportunity for individuals with disabilities.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Rhode Island invites applicants with disabilities to voluntarily self-identify&nbsp;by visiting PeopleAdmin, the&nbsp;applicant&nbsp;portal.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New hires and employees are invited to complete a voluntary self-identification form or to visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/equal-opportunity\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2127\/URI-Self-Service-Instructions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">URI Employee Self-Service<\/a>&nbsp;portal to report their race, ethnicity, sex, veteran status, and disability status.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Responses will help the University&nbsp;track&nbsp;progress, measure success, and&nbsp;allocate&nbsp;resources in support of equal opportunity and the University\u2019s Strategic Plan.
