Each year only 5 students will be selected to participate in the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESTEEMED scholars must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have an interest in pursuing a career in biomedical- or bioengineering-related field,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan to major in a qualifying STEM discipline (biology, biotechnology, neuroscience, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, or are in the top 15% of their class,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are eligible for Pell grants and\/or a first-generation college student, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are eligible to be a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/talentdevelopment\/\">URI Talent Development Scholar<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/XcfouaZVuKE8zPeL9\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/esteemed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2157\/IMG_5626-4-scaled.jpeg\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><h2>Apply Now<\/h2><p>Join our community of scholars in Fall 2025 with our online application. <br><br>Applications are due <strong>July 30, 2025.<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container button\">Apply now<\/div><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Contact the URI ESTEEMED team at <a href=\"mailto:esteemed-group@uri.edu\">esteemed-group@uri.edu<\/a> for information on the application process.
