The Rules – Trivia Night

  1. *Rules are subject to change
  2. Each team will consist of 4-6 participants

  3. The trivia will be portioned into three sections, the multiple choice round and the  buzzer round, and a “Final Jeopardy”

    a. Section one will consist of every team competing on a Trivia game created on Kahoot. The Point system will follow that of Kahoot rules, the faster you answer the question the more points you receive, and a wrong answer will receive 0 points. At the end of the Kahoot the Top 4 teams will move onto the buzzer round of the competition.

    i. Each team will be split up into their own respective areas of the auditorium with a white board to discuss and write down their answers to questions.

ii. Each team will have one designated person with a computer or phone to submit answers on kahoot after discussion with their team.

iii. Members are encouraged to communicate within their own respective teams but  no communication between groups during questions is allowed.

    b. The buzzer round of the competition will consist of each team sending one member up to answer multiple choice or open response questions against the other teams. Each question will be worth 150 points. The team to buzzer in first will be able to answer the question, wrong answers will result in a 50 point deduction (You can go negative in points). If the first team to respond gets it wrong, the next team to buzzer in will then get the opportunity to answer correctly until a team answers correctly.

    c. The final jeopardy round will be similar to jeopardy in which each team can discuss how many points they would like to wager, from their current score, on a final question that could be taken from any subject. If you answer the question correctly you will receive the points you wagers, if you answer incorrectly you will be deducted those points.

  4. In the event of a tie between two or three of the Top 4 teams, there will be a Math derivation that is to be done on the large whiteboards at the front of the auditorium the first person to get the correct answer will receive the Victory.
