{"id":1417,"date":"2026-05-26T09:14:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T13:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/facilities-group\/?page_id=1417"},"modified":"2026-05-26T09:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T13:14:11","slug":"office-of-small-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/facilities-group\/office-of-small-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Office of Small Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong>Small Projects make Big Impacts!<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Established in Spring of 2019, the Office of Small Projects has a dedicated team whose mission is to efficiently oversee projects from design conception through construction for a wide array of minor renovation and construction projects across all URI campuses.&nbsp; Our goal is to plan well with thoughtful design and deliver successful projects meeting budget, schedule, and client expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the practice of the Office of Small Projects to receive new project assignments through the Facilities Group AVP (via the Control Center work order system), then appoint project managers whose first objective is to set up the initial scope meeting within 2 to 3 weeks of receipt.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to fully maximize our resources, projects aren\u2019t always queued in order of receipt.&nbsp; There are times when it is fiscally responsible to schedule projects with similar tasks at the same time to procure more reasonable and attractive bids from our MPA contractors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other factors taken into consideration when prioritizing projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>code violations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>life safety concerns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>level of complexity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>client\u2019s schedule constraints<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conflicts with other projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>resource challenges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Every project is unique.&nbsp; Upon project intake, the assigned Project Manager will transform the client\u2019s vision into a real project.&nbsp;&nbsp; We will facilitate and manage every step from design concept to implementation and construction, guiding the client through the entire project process from start to finish. &nbsp;
