Please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/financial-aid\/upcoming-federal-student-loan-changes\/\">Upcoming Federal Student Loan Changes<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<p>The University of Rhode Island participates in the Federal Direct Student loan program. This program includes both undergraduate student Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans. The University receives funds directly from the U.S. Department of Education and disburses them to eligible students. You must file a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/studentaid.gov\" target=\"_blank\">FAFSA<\/a> for each academic year in order to be eligible for these loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\"><section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-tabs-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-tabs  \">\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Academic Year 2025-26<\/h1>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Undergraduate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For 2025-26 the Undergraduate Subsidized and Unsubsidized loan rate is as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Interest Rate &#8211; 6.39%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Origination Fee &#8211; 1.057%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong>:&nbsp; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students in years 5 and 6 (P3\/P4) are eligible for graduate level loans only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Undergraduate students <\/strong>borrowing through the Federal Direct Student Loan program at URI must complete the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 1:&nbsp;<\/strong>Accept all or a portion of the Subsidized and\/or Unsubsidized Loan offered on the student\u2019s financial aid award through the student\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/its.uri.edu\/ecampus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e-Campus<\/a>. This step must be completed each academic year if you choose to borrow your loan. If you do not accept your loan(s), ES will cancel your federal loan offer.&nbsp; However, if you wish to reinstate your federal loans, please contact&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/enrollment\/contact\/\">ES&nbsp;<\/a>to request that they be re-offered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First time undergraduate student borrowers must complete Step 2 and Step 3.&nbsp;<\/strong><em>You will need your FSA ID and password to complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note. Both items only need to be completed once<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 2:&nbsp;<\/strong>Complete Entrance Counseling for undergraduate students&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/entrance-counseling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Step 3:<\/strong>&nbsp;Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for undergraduate students electronically&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/mpn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"cl-tab \">\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Rhode Island participates in the Federal Direct Student loan program.
