Students in the Geology Specialization must take the following courses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-c0145251-10f8-4dbf-b9aa-87c24c3774a2\"><li>GEO 483 \u2013 Hydrogeology (4 credits)<\/li><li>GEO 480 \u2013 Summer Field Camp (4 \u2013 6 credits)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Field course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All majors are highly encouraged to take a&nbsp;field course, GEO 480, preferably during the summer of the junior or senior year. Such courses are offered by a variety of different schools around the country, and involve 4 \u2013 6 weeks of intensive field work including rock identification, mapping, and structural and stratigraphic studies. To broaden their geological experiences, we encourage our students to take advantage of one of the many courses offered in the western United States.
