The 3rd annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) event brought together 10 outstanding finalists and more than 150 enthusiastic attendees for an evening filled with high energy and loud cheers. The audience showed strong support throughout the competition, ultimately voting for the Audience Favorite award, which ended in an exciting tie. The event fostered a true sense of community, celebrating research, clear communication, and the collective pride in our scholars\u2019 work.\nFollowing the competition, everyone gathered at the reception to congratulate the finalists and winners, reconnect, and continue the conversation. Food and drinks were served as the celebration continued in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you to our three judges for their time, thoughtful evaluations, and support in making the event such a success.<\/p><\/div>

University of Rhode Island\u2019s annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition challenges graduate students to refine their research communication skills by presenting their research in clear, engaging, and jargon-free style to a broad audience in just three minutes, using one static slide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created by the University of Queensland, participation in the 3MT competition helps graduate students improve their ability to communicate their research and explain their work clearly and concisely to those outside their field of study. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
