Derek Davis and Deborah Ferguson will be joining U\u00b2GRC as faculty members at URI in Fall 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=8Gw1YrAAAAAJ&amp;hl=en\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=8Gw1YrAAAAAJ&amp;hl=en\">Derek Davis<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is currently a postdoc at Caltech. They work at an intersection of detector science and astrophysics, specifically on how characterization of gravitational-wave detectors impacts detections of gravitational wave sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deborahferguson.info\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.deborahferguson.info\"><strong>Deborah Ferguson<\/strong><\/a> is currently a postdoc at UIUC. Her research is focused on the development and analysis of numerical relativity simulations, particularly in the context of gravitational wave detections. An important part of that has been assessing the readiness of current numerical relativity codes for the challenges that will come with LISA and third-generation ground-based detectors, both in terms of accuracy and parameter coverage.\u00a0 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are really excited to share that Drs.
