Making a House a Home<\/h1>

For over 60 years, Greek Housing has been an integral living & learning component of the fraternity & sorority experience. Currently, the University of Rhode Island Greek community includes ten sorority houses<\/span> and six fraternity house<\/span>s with members living in residence.<\/p><\/article><\/div><\/section>\n

Our Housing Experience<\/h2>\n

Each house is managed by the individual organization’s housing corporation and owned privately, but resides on University land. All of the organizations employ House Directors*, live-in adult advisors who live in residence. Most<\/em> chapters expect members to live in for at least 1 year, unless all spots in the house are filled. Please ask about your chapter’s living requirement before you join the organization.<\/p>\n

Most<\/em> houses have a full kitchen and chef to prepare meals Monday through Friday. Room & Board costs for Fraternity & Sorority Housing is at or below the cost of living in Housing & Residential Life. Room & board costs, as well as housing agreements, are managed by the House Corporations. <\/p>\n

House Directors are an important resource for our Greek community.  They assist the chapter by creating a safe living and learning environment.  House Chefs create a dining experience for live-in members, and special events coordinated at the house.

Fraternity Manager’s Association<\/h2>\n

At the University of Rhode Island, we are fortunate to have the support of the Fraternity Manager’s Association<\/strong> (FMA)<\/strong>. The Fraternity Managers Association (FMA) is a 501C(3) cooperative purchasing group with facility & financial support services for URI Greek Housing & Independent Living Groups. <\/span>Please contact the FMA for specific information & questions at their website (www.urifma.org<\/a>), give us a call at 401-874-2557, or directly email a staff member below: <\/p>\n
