Recorded Events – Watch the Live Stream

Coastal Resources Center director and GSO professor J.P. Walsh and GSO professor Rainer Lohmann discussed the dangers posed by marine pollution and “forever chemicals” called PFAS, and what we need to do to address them.

In an evening of art, music, imagery and storytelling, speakers presented an interconnected series of narratives that recenter identity & emotion in our understanding of the world’s ocean, told from a place of maritime culture, deep personal connection, perseverance, hope, and concern.

To kick off Women’s History Month, GSO explored the diverse experiences of women in ocean science. Katy Croff Bell (Ph.D.’11) and GSO professors Fenix Garcia Tigreros & Rebecca Robinson joined us to discuss their research and perspectives on how the “leaky pipeline” of gender disparity in marine science can be fixed.
