Designed in collaboration with Norwegian company JM Robotics and optimized for compact deployment, <em>Rhody<\/em> is lightweight enough to be carried by two people yet capable of carrying high-end sensors typical of deep-sea exploration. Outfitted with a VOYIS Discovery Stereo Camera, <em>Rhody<\/em> collects ultra-high-resolution imagery to create detailed 3D models of underwater environments. Built with accessibility and mobility in mind, it can be deployed from a pier or transported in a pickup truck, opening new doors for training, research, and public engagement in marine science.<\/p>\n\n\n<a class=\"cl-button   prominent\" href=\"mailto:rhody-group@uri.edu\" title=\"\">ROV Rhody Inquiries<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/gso\/news\/uri-students-discover-historic-shipwrecks\/\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/916\/4-22.jpg\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><h2>17 shipwrecks documented in Lake Ontario with ROV Rhody<\/h2><p>A team of eight students, scientists, and engineers from the URI recently returned from the first survey of known shipwrecks in the Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary. Using URI\u2019s new ROV, the student-led team documented 17 shipwrecks.
