Our fifth alum speaker on June 28 , 2021 was Yackar Mauzole who received&nbsp;both her M.S. (2014) and Ph.D. (2017) from URI&#8217;s Graduate School of Oceanography. Mauzole is now a postdoctoral researcher at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.<\/p>\n<p>The title of Yackar\u2019s talk is \u201cA Journey to Become an Oceanographer: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.\u201d The talk presents her path throughout higher education to becoming an oceanographer and touches on some of the hardships she faced as a student and now as an early career researcher.
