University of Rhode Island Commencement Weekend held May 16\u201318, 2025 on the Kingston Campus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to the Class of 2025! The Graduate School of Oceanography commencement ceremony took place on Saturday, May 17, at 5 p.m. at the Ryan Center on the Kingston Campus. The day before, on May 16 at 3:30 p.m., we honored the degree recipients from the past year at the GSO Shirting Ceremony, a time-honored tradition, in Corless Auditorium on the URI Bay Campus. (Meet the fall 2024 graduates<\/a>, many of whom attended the May 2025 Shirting Ceremony.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commencement speaker: GSO’s Puja Banerjee<\/h2>

Banerjee, who is from\u00a0Agartala, a city in the Indian state of Tripura, will be graduating with a Ph.D. in oceanography from GSO, and plans to pursue a career where she can apply her research, data analysis, and project management skills beyond academia.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div>
