The team returned in August with an unprecedented collection of samples\u2014718 cores measuring over 871 meters and 50,000 liters of groundwater\u2014to be analyzed in laboratories across the globe, including here at the\u00a0Bay Campus!<\/p>\n\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  \" href=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2025\/08\/how-did-freshened-water-end-up-beneath-the-seafloor-sediment-collected-by-scientists-may-reveal-answers\/\" title=\"\">read the story<\/a>\n<\/article><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Wow, what a year!
