This\u00a0information is used to inform decision-making locally and advance science globally. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crmc.ri.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The RI Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC)<\/a> leads the management of the Rhode Island coast and partners in the monitoring efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Survey measurements have been made at nine sites along the southern shoreline of Rhode Island over the past few decades, ranging from Misquamicut Beach to South Kingstown Town Beach.\u00a0Today, eight beaches are regularly surveyed.<\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-panel-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-panel  \"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/gso\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/916\/surveymap-copy.jpg\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"\"><\/figure><article>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rhode Island Beach Dynamics Website Data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To better understand shoreline changes, students and\u00a0scientists from GSO, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/gso\/?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=23502598262&amp;gbraid=0AAAABCgv8yt0t1NE3KHWK0nbBB2TBYkOg&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiA-__MBhAKEiwASBmsBKhQUk1o_Ucdpb33QW09q_vDBAYJOrETg0W9v4OihFf0M4Iydn25XRoCPPMQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">URI Environmental Data Center<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/espd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">URI Department of Geosciences<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.easternct.edu\/environmental-earth-science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU)<\/a>\u00a0have surveyed\u00a0several\u00a0RI beaches for\u00a0many decades.<\/p>\n\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  \" href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/uri.edu\/beachdynamics\/ri-beaches?authuser=0\" title=\"\">Explore the data<\/a>\n<\/article><\/div><\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Using beach profile data collected from the 1960s to today,\u00a0shoreline changes are better understood.
