{"id":6983,"date":"2019-04-29T15:14:09","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T15:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harrington.uri.edu\/?p=6983"},"modified":"2019-04-29T15:14:09","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T15:14:09","slug":"senior-spotlight-madison-crognale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/harrington\/news\/student-profile\/2019\/04\/29\/senior-spotlight-madison-crognale\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Spotlight: Madison Crognale"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">by Lizzie Farris<\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Madison Crognale, a senior double major in communications and film\/media, has completed two outstanding internships this spring semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Crognale interned for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ripbs.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WSBE-TV\/Rhode Island PBS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as an events development intern, and also as a newsroom intern for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc6.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ABC6<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Although internships like this are very competitive, Crognale\u2019s past experience and knowledge gained in the Harrington School of Communication and Media helped her secure these internships. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Crognale performed varied job duties in her internships. As a newsroom intern, Crognale wrote web articles for ABC6 and shadowed producers in order to get a feel for different positions in the newsroom. As an events development intern, for WSBE-TV\/Rhode Island PBS, Crognale was in charge of planning events such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Evening Uncorked, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">their annual food and wine fundraising event. Crognale was in charge of contacting local businesses and merchants for donations such as gift baskets or gift cards. She was also in charge of organizing a book signing for a famous chef at the event. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Harrington School of Communication and Media has prepared Crognale for her outstanding internships. She was told by her advisor, Dr. Kevin McClure, to focus on internships around her sophomore year, and has now built up an impressive resume.
