I am also a scientific advisor to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/oceanconservancy.org\/\">Ocean&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/oceanconservancy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conservancy<\/a>&nbsp;and a National Geographic Explorer.<\/p>\n<p data-adtags-visited=\"true\">Previously, I was a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/conbio.org\/mini-sites\/smith-fellows\">David H. Smith Postdoctoral Fellow<\/a>&nbsp;at the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu\/aquatic_health\/index.cfm\">Aquatic Health Program at the University of California, Davis<\/a>. I received my PhD in a joint program with San Diego State University and UC Davis in Ecology and was advised primarily by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu\/faculty\/results.cfm?fid=13066\">Swee Teh<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/hoh.sdsu.edu\/\">Eunha Hoh<\/a>.
