The training includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The American Heart Association (AHA) Chain of Survival, specifically the Basic Life Support (BLS) components<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the importance of early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>effective ventilations using a barrier device<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the importance of teams in a multi-rescuer resuscitation performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>relief of foreign-body airway obstructions (choking) for adults and infants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Classes Offered<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CPR\/Basic Life Support with AED<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Open to all URI students, staff, and faculty, as well as the local community<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Description<\/th><th>Cost<\/th><th>Registration<\/th><th><strong>CPR In Person Skills Test <\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>CPR and rescue breathing for victims of all ages\u2014including ventilation with barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen, use of automated external defibrillator (AED) and relieving choking victims (foreign body airway obstruction).<br><\/td><td>$45 for URI students, staff and faculty<br><strong>NO CHARGE FOR NURSING STUDENTS.<\/strong><br><br>$60 for all others<br><br>*<em>Please complete payment prior to scheduling.<\/em><br><\/td><td>Complete <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScnvpyFAdrXLlQYGQ72XtvXapSamhIZV0njx_fgg6jKrcQEjA\/viewform\">registration<\/a>.<br><br>Once submitted, you will receive payment instructions.<br><br>Within 24-48 you will receive a link to complete the Online CPR Course and evaluation once payment is received.<br><br><\/td><td><br>To schedule an in person CPR skills test, after completing the online CPR course,  complete this <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/zF6yi4v1ZQPa7o4L9\">form<\/a>.&nbsp;<br><br>Skills Test take 20-30 minutes to complete. You must have a copy of your Online Course Completion Certificate before you schedule your skills test. The Online Course Completion Certificate is given after completing the Online CPR course and the course evaluation.&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HeartSaver CPR Class<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">For lay responders who are serving as rescuers as part of their jobs with the option of having an AED component. Examples: Police, lifeguards, firefighters, security personnel, and office workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Description<\/th><th>Cost\/Registration<\/th><th>Schedule<\/th><th>Certification<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Trained to perform CPR relief of choking victims and rescue breathing.
