I had a strong interest in International Relations and building cross cultural exchange, so Kathleen mentioned that I would be competitive for a number of the applications.\u201d<br \/>\n<\/blockquote><\/div><\/section><strong>What is your major and when did you graduate?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Political Science and Africana Studies, 2020<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did you choose URI?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I was a commuter and transferred from CCRI. It was the most affordable option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What have you been up to since graduation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I currently work in higher Ed at Tufts University but plan on pursuing a career in the Foreign Service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>How were you involved in life at URI?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I was very involved in student government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What awards did you apply for through ONFAO and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I applied for everything: the Rangel, Pickering, Marshall, Gilman, Demers, 3 Fulbrights, and, NALCAP. I had a strong interest in International Relations and building cross cultural exchange, so Kathleen mentioned that I would be competitive for a number of the applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you hear about these opportunities with ONFAO?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kathleen [Maher] reached out to a number of students who should consider applying to the Fulbright Scholarship, and the rest is history!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>How did ONFAO support\/ equip you during the application process?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">[ONFAO] helped me revise applications [and provided] advice on what applications to apply to, and how to make them stronger.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What did you gain from this experience?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I was able to learn Arabic remotely through a Gilman and Demers fellowship. Also, I explored Spain through the NALCAP program and I will be embarking on a Fulbright grant to the UK.
