My name is Camille deVasconcelos, but you can call me Mila, if you’d like. I’m a Sophomore majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Leadership Studies, and I aspire to get a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with the specialization in Cell and Molecular Biology. My ultimate goal is to become a professor as well as have the ability to do my own research in understanding the molecular basis of diseases like cancer, genetic diseases and neurodegenerative disorders.

My favorite things to do are listening to music, hanging out with friends, doing word searches and watching movies or documentaries with family. Also, on campus I’m involved with the CELS Seeds of Success, Latinx Student Association and Habitat for Humanity.

I was interested in becoming an Honors Ambassador the second I heard about the opportunity during an early registration session this semester. Also, I’ve been a CELS Ambassador since April of last year so I thought that it would be very similar to what I already do, and since the program is new it’s exciting to see how it’ll grow for years to come.

Email: cdevasconcelos@uri.edu

[18,146

post-4892","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-spring-2020","category-student-ambassador
["GET
