Summer Housing Application is available now in the URI My Housing portal, with an April 30th deadline for current residents.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer Housing 202<\/strong>6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Brookside Hall will be used for summer housing. If demand exceeds capacity, we may expand to other similar style buildings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer 2026 housing will be billed at a rate of $266 per week (Sunday\u2013Saturday) for the duration of your approved stay. Weekly charges apply in full regardless of move-in or move-out day; partial weeks are not prorated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you remain in housing beyond 11:59pm the Saturday of your approved stay, additional weekly charges will be applied until you complete your move-out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may cancel a future week and receive an adjustment to your charges if you notify Housing and complete your move-out by 11:59pm on the Saturday prior to that week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Spring Interim Housing \/ Senior Week Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Students must meet at least one of the criteria below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Graduating Seniors who are living in the residence halls at the end of the Spring housing semester<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Student employees who are living in the residence halls at the end of the Spring housing semester and who are required<\/em><\/strong> to work during this week<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Student Commencement workers\/participants who are living in the residence halls at the end of the Spring housing semester and who need to live on-campus between the close of residence halls and commencement ceremonies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Students who are living in the residence halls at the end of the Spring housing semester and who are transitioning to Summer Session 1 housing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Students currently living in Brookside Hall<\/strong> and Gateway Apartments<\/strong> may be required to relocate to an alternative space during this period. More information will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Extended Spring Season Athlete Housing<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Any student athlete whose competitive season extends beyond the end of the spring semester (i.e. Baseball, Women\u2019s Rowing, Men & Women\u2019s Track and Field, and Softball) will be housed, as coordinated through Athletics, in a location to be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Summer Housing Criteria \u2013 Matriculated students<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    URI students are eligible for summer housing if they meet one of the following criteria:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. The student was a matriculated, full-time or degree-seeking student enrolled at URI during the preceding spring semester and is admitted and eligible to enroll in a full-time, degree-seeking URI program for the upcoming fall semester; OR<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. The student is enrolled in or completing a summer course or internship through URI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      As we work to support students in their transition to the university, summer housing is not intended for students who will begin their full-time enrollment at URI in the fall semester. We look forward to welcoming incoming students to campus housing for the fall term, when full transition and support resources are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Eligibility requirements will be reviewed upon submission of the housing application. Housing and Residential Life reserves the right to reassess or revoke a student\u2019s summer housing assignment based on course modality and standing with the university, including financial and conduct-related expectations. If a student\u2019s eligibility status changes, they may be required to vacate campus housing within three (3) business days. Billing will be adjusted based on the checkout date, in accordance with established summer housing billing practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Before committing to summer housing, students should be aware that summer housing costs are typically not covered by financial aid (e.g., scholarships, grants, or loans) in the same way as during the academic year. Students are encouraged to confirm their ability to cover these costs prior to accepting a summer housing assignment. Eligibility to enroll includes maintaining good financial standing with the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For any student applying for Student First Fund relief, it is your responsibility to follow the Student First Fund application<\/a> process prior to moving in. Please allow at least 3-5 business days for review and determination.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Summer Housing Criteria \u2013 Non-Matriculated Individuals<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      A non-matriculated individual undertaking an internship at\/or sponsored by URI who otherwise would not be affiliated with URI\u2013 affiliation will be confirmed by HRL.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Notes: Non-matriculated individuals will not have access to the cancellation form indicated below. Please contact Housing Customer Service for assistance with cancellation requests.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dining<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Please visit the Dining Services website<\/span><\/a> for more information on dining options for summer on-campus residents.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Room Assignments & Occupancy<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Due to the accelerated summer schedule room\/suite mate requests cannot be accepted.  It is the Department of Housing and Residential Life\u2019s (HRL\u2019s) prerogative to assign residents to their respective buildings and rooms to achieve the highest and best use of available space. Summer Housing staff may consolidate room assignments after the end of Summer Session 2 for building maintenance and preparation purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      All students must vacate their assigned room at the time that their eligibility and\/or occupancy period expires Students who are approved to remain in Summer Housing through Transition Day and who live in the residence halls during the academic year will be able to move directly into their academic year room assignment on August 20, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Students who will not be living in the residence halls for the 2026 Fall semester must make alternative housing arrangements between Transition Day and the start of the school year. Alternative housing resources are: Fraternity Manager\u2019s Association<\/a> or the Commuter Affairs Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Move-In Information<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Move-In Information is included in the email you will receive with your housing assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Billing & Payment Information<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      A housing deposit is not required for Summer Housing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Students are billed for the full summer dates they have indicated on their application form. In most cases, matriculated student Summer Housing fees are submitted to Enrollment Services and are included on the Summer School bill (see Enrollment Service\u2019s website for more information on their billing cycles, payment due dates, etc). <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Some students have their housing paid through grants and\/or the department for which they are employed. Housing bills these departments directly. Students who have this arrangement with their respective employers should have their names submitted on a list sent to Housing, by their employer, prior to April 30th.  Students staying outside the approved dates specified by the department will be charged directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Non-matriculated individuals will be billed directly.  Payment must be rendered in full prior to check in.  Payment instructions will be provided on the invoice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
