{"id":21038,"date":"2023-08-09T09:36:31","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T13:36:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/?page_id=21038"},"modified":"2026-07-30T11:08:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T15:08:16","slug":"early-move-in","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/early-move-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Move-In"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>2026 early move in dates are Monday, August 31st &#8211; Thursday, September 3rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Early Move-In Dates and Charges Fall 202<\/strong>6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request form for early arrival is available now in your URI My Housing portal, under &#8220;Housing Forms.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Early Move-In Dates and Charges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who need to arrive before regular move in days may request Early Move-In (September 4-7) for $75\/day, billed to your Fall 2026 account in late September. The following are the approved estimated early move-in dates and associated costs, based on previous year\u2019s rate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Monday, August 31st<\/strong>: $300<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tuesday, September 1st<\/strong>: $225<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wednesday, September 2nd<\/strong>: $150<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Thursday, September 3rd<\/strong>: $75<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We will determine your early move-in charges based on the requested date or your arrival date, whichever is earlier. We will add these charges to your Fall term bill.&nbsp;Please pay them in&nbsp;accordance with University billing dates to avoid late fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a URI department or program requests your early arrival, you may qualify for a discounted rate. Please contact your sponsoring department or program in advance to confirm any adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can update your form in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/myapps.microsoft.com\/\">URI My Housing<\/a>&nbsp;through&nbsp;<strong>August 28th if your arrival plans change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Guidelines and Policies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early move-in is a privilege, and we expect you to follow these rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adhere to the 2026-2027 Housing Agreement, HRL Community Policies Addendum, and Housing Cancellation Policy, as found <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/apply\">on our website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We may remove you from campus immediately for any inappropriate or disruptive behavior until the official move-in date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overnight guests are not allowed during the early move-in period<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ID Card Activation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your&nbsp;<strong>ID card will be activated at 8:00 AM<\/strong>&nbsp;on the day you selected for early move-in. Your ID will allow you access to your residence hall and room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Move-In Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More detailed instructions will be sent to you when your arrival is confirmed and as we get closer to the start of the fall semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Services During Early Move-In<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be aware that campus services, including housing support, will be limited during the early move-in period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your meal plan will be active as of Friday, September 4th. Before then, you can purchase meals with cash, RAM Account, Visa, or MasterCard.
