Our regular move in days for Fall 2026 will be Friday, September 4th-Monday, September 7th, 2026.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request process for early arrival will be communicated by campus email to all residents with confirmed housing assignments in late July. In order to assist in planning,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">the following are the estimated Fall 2026 early move-in dates and associated costs, based on previous year&#8217;s rate. These dates and rates are currently under review and subject to change:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Monday, August 31st<\/strong>: $300<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tuesday, September 1st<\/strong>: $225<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wednesday, September 2nd<\/strong>: $150<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Thursday, September 3rd<\/strong>: $75<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We will determine your early move-in charges based on the requested date or your arrival date, whichever is earlier. We will add these charges to your Fall term bill.&nbsp;Please pay them in&nbsp;accordance with University billing dates to avoid late fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a URI department or program requests your early arrival, you may qualify for a discounted rate. Please contact your sponsoring department or program in advance to confirm any adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can update your form in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/myapps.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">URI My Housing<\/a>\u00a0through\u00a0<strong>September 3rd if your arrival plans change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important Guidelines and Policies<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Early move-in is a privilege, and we expect you to follow these rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adhere to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/2026-2027-housing-and-residential-life-agreement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2026-2027 Housing Agreement<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/2026-2027-housing-and-residential-life-community-policies-addendum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2026-2027 HRL Community Policies Addendum<\/a>, and the<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/2026-2027-housing-and-residential-life-cancellation-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a02026-2027 Housing Cancellation Policy<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We may remove you from campus immediately for any inappropriate or disruptive behavior until the official move-in date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overnight guests are not allowed during the early move-in period<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You do not need to sign up for a specific move-in time slot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Move-In Instructions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>More detailed instructions will be sent to you when your early arrival is confirmed. Some things to keep in mind, however, include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your&nbsp;<strong>ID card will be activated at 8:00 AM<\/strong>&nbsp;on the day you selected for early move-in. Your ID will allow you access to your residence hall and room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Unloading<\/strong>: You may park in front of your residence hall with your flashers on while unloading. If unloading on a pathway, please be cautious of pedestrians and drive slowly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you?ve finished unloading,&nbsp;<strong>move your vehicle to a designated parking lot<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You cannot park in faculty, staff, or restricted lots, and we may tow vehicles parked in unauthorized areas. Please avoid driving or parking in grassy areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Services During Early Move-In<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be aware that campus services, including housing support, will be limited during the early move-in period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your meal plan starts when the halls officially open (Specific date TBD). Before then, you can purchase meals with cash, RAM Account, Visa, or MasterCard.
