Wired internet connections are also available throughout the residence halls. <a href=\"https:\/\/its.uri.edu\/services\/945d4e6e7d852620ace30b46149fb652f96ec3e2d1\/\">Learn how to connect to URI Wireless.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Device restrictions at URI&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Chromecasts will not work on the URI network&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Nintendo Switches <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Games developed by Nintendo tend to use P2P Connection (Peer-To-Peer), which URI does not allow<\/li>\n<li>You can play games developed by third party developers that are server based (almost any other game)<\/li>\n<li>Wireless Printers will not work on URI\u2019s WiFi due to being a security risk. Printers that can be connected via a printer cable (this can be purchased at <a style=\"font-family: Charter, Georgia, serif;font-size: 20px\" href=\"https:\/\/ramtech.uri.edu\/home\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RamTech<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> can be used but are not required.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Television Channels<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The University has recently updated the cable TV infrastructure to carry local over the air HD Digital channels.&nbsp;To set-up your TV, select input as Cable and perform a channel search. The setup process varies by TV vendor so please refer to your model specific instructions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Additional digital media is available through a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/housing\/living-at-uri\/technology-in-the-residence-halls\/online-streaming-services\/\">online streaming services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Residence Hall Lounges<\/h2>\n<p>Each residence hall is equipped with a flat screen television and HDMI&nbsp;cable in the building&#8217;s main lounge. Residents are invited to connect laptops, gaming consoles, and other devices using the supplied cable.<\/p>\n<h2>IT Resources<\/h2>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/its.uri.edu\/\">&nbsp;IT Service Desk<\/a> is the one-stop center for all tech-related issues at the university.
