Wired internet connections are also available throughout the residence halls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/its.uri.edu\/2025\/07\/31\/wifi\/\">Learn how to connect to URI Wireless<\/a> and get set up by connecting to URI_Open, navigating your browser to <a href=\"http:\/\/rhodywifi.uri.edu\">rhodywifi.uri.edu<\/a> for setup, then connecting to URI_Secure.<\/p>\n<p><b>Device restrictions at URI&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Chromecast and similar casting devices may not work on the URI network.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Nintendo Switch: Many g<\/span>ames developed by Nintendo tend to use P2P Connection (Peer-To-Peer), which URI does not allow. Most other online games will work without issue.<\/li>\n<li>Wireless Printers will not work on URI\u2019s WiFi. Printers that can be connected directly to your computer via a printer cable <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are permitted, and if needed, the cable<\/span>&nbsp;can be purchased at&nbsp;<a style=\"font-family: Charter, Georgia, serif;font-size: 20px\" href=\"https:\/\/ramtech.uri.edu\/home\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RamTech<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Please note, personal printers are generally not required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Residents can register their devices, including gaming consoles and smart TVs, by following <a href=\"https:\/\/rhody.service-now.com\/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0010106\">steps in this article<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Television Channels<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The University&#8217;s cable TV infrastructure carries local over the air HD Digital channels. To set-up your TV, select input as Cable and perform a channel search. The setup process varies by TV vendor so please refer to your model specific instructions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Additional digital media is available through a number of online streaming services.<\/p>\n<h2>Residence Hall Lounges<\/h2>\n<p>Each residence hall is equipped with a flat screen television and HDMI&nbsp;cable in the building&#8217;s main lounge. Residents are invited to connect laptops, gaming consoles, and other devices using the supplied cable.<\/p>\n<h2>IT Resources<\/h2>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/its.uri.edu\/\">ITS Service Desk<\/a> is the one-stop center for all tech-related issues at the university.
