M.S. in HDF – Developmental Science
Overview
The HDF master’s program in developmental science is a two-year full time (three-year part time) degree that offers an innovative curriculum designed to prepare you for leadership positions in the areas of human service, policy development, program research and evaluation, and family life education.
Three Tracks
- Master’s training in HDF
This track offers master’s level preparation in lifespan development, theories of human development, and research methodology. You will be prepared for positions in human service, policy development, program research and evaluation, and family life education. You will also have the choice of research, service, and policy-related internships to complement your academic training. - Career Enhancement
If you are already employed in social service settings, preschools, and other related professional areas, this track will prepare you in the areas of research, theory, program evaluation, and interdisciplinary teamwork necessary for middle to senior level administration. - Ph.D. Preparation
This track provides preparation for those interested in entering into doctoral programs in human development, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, education or a related field. Students in this track will be required to complete advanced statistical training and a research internship to prepare them for doctoral level studies.
