Sites who do not currently participate in BrightStars will be placed on a wait-list and contacted by the end of October about the status of registration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to free Professional Development workshops led by URI faculty, staff and teachers, attendees will receive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Continuing education credits (5 per day),<\/li><li>An Amazon gift card,<\/li><li>Entries for raffle items for your classrooms,<\/li><li>Entry into a raffle for a laptop,<\/li><li>The opportunity to share best teaching strategies with your peers,<\/li><li>Eligibility for ongoing coaching and mentoring from URI Child Development staff.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The Early Childhood Institute will be held on the Providence URI campus on Friday, November 15, 2019 and Saturday, November 16, 2019. Please note that the Friday series of workshops will target <strong>early childhood program directors and leaders<\/strong> and the Saturday workshops will target <strong>teachers and care providers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The itinerary for the day is below, and attendees will be able to choose the workshops at the time of registration. All workshops will include presentations, break out sessions and hands-on teaching demos by URI Child Development Center teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of registration, you can also sign up for free CDC observations and on-site coaching services. Therefore, ECE professionals will be invited to apply to share an innovative teaching practice used in their classroom.
