Jonas is described by his faculty mentors as a \u201cscholar\u2019s scholar\u201d and a \u201cdeeply imaginative and original thinker\u201d as well as a \u201cmagnificent teacher.\u201d Working at the intersection of historical literature and contemporary politics, he is poised to reach both academic specialists and a broader public.\u00a0A committed public humanities practitioner, he teaches in the award-winning Providence Clemente Veterans Initiative which offers free humanities courses to military veterans.
