Afua is the recipient of URI&#8217;s 2020-2021 Writing Award in the Scholarly\/Research category. Ansong is a Ghanian American writer, dancer, and photographer who recently published her chapbook manuscript,&nbsp;<em>Try Kissing God<\/em>, as part of the prestigious African Poetry Book Fund Series edited by Kwame Dawes and Chris Abani.<\/p>\n<p>Ansong is also a two-time winner of the Center for the Humanities Graduate Research Award, as well as a presenter in CFH&#8217;s 2020-2021 Brown Bag Series.
