The competition was fierce during the International Center’s end of spring Coffee Hour this past May. URI students from Lebanon, China, Iran, Germany, and Jordan took part in a fun game of UNO before moving on to an energizing game of “Heads Up”. This proved to be more than just fun and games; participants learned new vocabulary as well as new subject areas to brush up on.
They also had the chance to meet our newest member of the International Center team, Abigail Borchert, who has hidden talents in both UNO and Heads Up. Abigail is our International Student Services Advisor providing immigration, visa, and social support to URI international students. Stop by the office, temporarily located in the basement of Roosevelt hall, and say hello—she looks forward to meeting you!
URI International Coffee Hours are great opportunities to meet new and interesting people, practice speaking in another language, as well as fostering cross-cultural exchanges. All URI students and friends, international and American, are welcome to join.
Stay tuned for upcoming summer events!
