RIFGA Annual Meeting

Guest speaker: Angela Myracle the from University of Maine speaking on Plums!
The quest for the perfect plum.  Using sensory, nutritional and horticulture analysis to recommend cold hardy plums to growers for local markets.  Angela will also give a bonus presentation:  native berries, elderberry and Aronia, health benefits and value added market potential. 

Meeting is free with annual dues payment of $40, or $20 for non-RIFGA members.

RIFGA Small Fruit Twilight Meeting

Guest speaker: Nate Nourse from Nourse Nursery in South Deerfield, MA
Nate will speak on 21st Century Raspberry Pruning. His talk will also include information on raspberry and blackberry varieties and double cropping raspberries. He will also be available to answer questions about blueberries and strawberries.

Meeting is free with annual dues payment of $40, or $20 for non-RIFGA members.

Massachusetts & RIFGA Twilight Meeting
April 20, 2016

The Big Apple Farm, 207 Arnold St., Wrentham, MA. 5:30 PM. In cooperation with Rhode Island Fruit Growers’ Association. 1 pesticide credit will be offered. Light dinner will be served. $20 meeting fee. Contact: Jon Clements, 413-478-7219. Pre-registration is not necessary.

In addition to visiting the orchard we’ll learn about the farmstand, bakery, cider production, Kerri’s approach to Ag Tourism, and more. Kerri really does a nice job.

Rhode Island twilight meetings are free to RIFGA members ($40 yearly dues) or $20 for non-members.
Two hours of pesticide recertification credits are available.

June Twilight Meeting
On Wednesday June 15, beginning at 2 pm, there will be an equipment field day and twilight meeting for tree fruit, berry and grape growers and related industry, held at Belltown Hill Orchards in South Glastonbury. Dinner and the twilight meeting will follow beginning around 6 pm. The agenda and list of companies is attached. There is no cost to attend.

This event is sponsored by the CT Pomological Society, the University of CT, Risk Management Agency/USDA, and the CT Dept of Agriculture.
