The Mobile Telepresence Unit (MTU)<\/strong> developed by the University of Rhode Island\u2019s Inner Space Center (ISC)<\/a> acts as a \u201cplug-and-play\u201d bridge that brings advanced telepresence capabilities to research vessels that lack built-in infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MTU enables real-time collaboration between teams at sea and on shore, regardless of the vessel\u2019s original technical limitations and without requiring large equipment installations or permanently modifying the vessel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
