Jennifer<\/a><br \/>\nENG 263 will acquaint you with the art of lyric poetry as it has been practiced for thousands of years \u2014 as a sophisticated form of entertainment that teaches you about yourself, other people, the worl in which you live, and the virtual realms of mind and spirit. You will practice reading, writing about, discussing, commenting on, and reciting poetry from a wide range of time periods and national and cultural traditions to gain a sense of its particularities as a mode of storytelling through sound, sense, emotionality, and compression.
