I wanted this specific program because it was straight to the point and\u00a0gave me the education I needed without having to take any unnecessary\u00a0coursework.<\/p>\n<h2>What has been the best part of being a part of the Department of Kinesiology at URI<\/h2>\n<p>The hands on experience here is amazing. Having the opportunity to work directly\u00a0one on one with students of all backgrounds and abilities has really given me the\u00a0skills I need to become the best teacher I can be. \u00a0It&#8217;s a huge reason why I was able to get the job I did.<\/p>\n<h2>What advice would you like to give to students considering the program in Kinesiology<\/h2>\n<p>My advice would be to consider what fits you the best. The MATCP program fit me\u00a0because I already had an undergraduate degree and wanted to become certified to\u00a0teach. If this is you, then it&#8217;s a good fit!<\/p>\n<h2>What is next for you<\/h2>\n<p>I have just accepted a full time teaching position at Blackstone Valley Prep; I am\u00a0really looking forward to starting my career and impacting the lives of our future\u00a0youth!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jackie Greaves is a MATCP Graduate, Class of 2016.
