The Digital Initiatives unit of the University Libraries offers services for the URI community in the areas of sharing and archiving digital materials, digital publishing, Open Access, and more. We create, manage, and provide access to digitized library and archival collections, as well as collect and preserve current URI publications and digital projects. A distance learner is anyone who is enrolled in courses delivered online on course management systems – such as Brightspace – or other delivery methods where in-person visits to campus are not required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The University Libraries offer an array of instruction resources to support research and teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An interlibrary loan (ILL) is a loan made by another library to the University Libraries, so that a researcher here may have access to materials URI does not own. Copies, rather than original materials, may sometimes be supplied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Support for faculty authors who wish to submit articles for publication in open access journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Come innovate with us in the University Libraries’ Makerspace. Providing access to 3D printers and prototyping software, virtual reality hardware, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Reserves collection contains material designated by university faculty as high-use or required readings for specific courses. Items on reserve for a course may include books, and special items loaned by faculty.
