{"id":299,"date":"2014-11-11T15:04:43","date_gmt":"2014-11-11T20:04:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/abecker\/?p=299"},"modified":"2026-06-23T18:29:45","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T22:29:45","slug":"peter-and-duncan-attend-resilience-leadership-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/macrl\/peter-and-duncan-attend-resilience-leadership-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter and Duncan attend Resilience Leadership Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0 On October 8, 2014, close on the two year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, two URI Marine Affairs PhD students,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/macrl\/duncan-mcintosh\/\">Duncan McIntosh<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/macrl\/peter-stempel-phd-fall-2014\/\">Peter Stempel<\/a>\u00a0joined over 350 leading environmentalists, policy makers, scientists, and insurance industry experts for the Northeast Risk &amp; Resilience Leadership Forum in Stamford, CT, to assess the lessons learned from the second costliest storm in U.S. history and to examine best practices for mitigating and adapting to severe weather in the future.
